Correia Mining Company
Correia Mining Company is Guyana’s premier mining corporation. It has
undergone a process of metamorphosis to become the company that it is
today.
The company is very vibrant and dynamic, diversifying its activities in
response to dynamic conglomerate.relevant market forces and can be
considered the hub of the nations most dynamic conglomerate.
ITS
Correia’s Interior Transportation Service or ‘ITS’ as it is preferably
called, is another proud member of the Correia Group of Companies. The
company was born out of the need to provide a more economical and
reliable form of transportation to support the development of the company’
s progressing mining operations in the Chiti-Go-Keng & Aruwai areas.
To this end, a viable and dependable river transportation service was
introduced and operations begun in 1996. ITS is the first company in
Guyana to operate the jet boat service in the interior. These boats have
elevated the standards by which passengers’ travel to the interior
locations of the Mazaruni River and the length of time for travel has
decreased immensely.

INTRASERV
INTRASERV Inc. is a bus company operated by the Correia Group of
Companies, incorporated in February of 2003. The service operates thrice
weekly from Georgetown to Lethem using two 44-seater Mercedes Benz
buses, converted for use on Guyana’s rough hinterland roads.
This move is seen as being a catalyst for further trade between
Georgetown and the border with Brazil since, in the not too distant future,
INTRASERV plans to incorporate a trans-border service with Brazil.
Passengers will soon be able to trade between Georgetown and Manaus,
via Boa Vista.

TRANS GUYANA AIRWAYS
Trans Guyana Airways developed out of a need to support a sister company involved in the
mining industry of Guyana. Due largely to the limited accessibility to mining areas, the mining
company became dependent on air transportation. Thus, in 1956, the founder of Trans Guyana
Airways Mr. Manoel Clement Correia purchased his first aircraft.
Michael Correia Snr. continued this air transportation development by buying a Britten Norman
Islander to further support the operation. Three generations later -- today -- grandson Michael
Correia (jnr) has been a leader in introducing turbine technology to Guyana’s private sector
aviation community. Trans Guyana Airways was the first private aircraft owner to introduce the
Shorts Skyvan -- a twin turboprop aircraft; and the Cessna Grand Caravan in Guyana.
